Tribalism in Uganda
This country banage!!
Ugandan politician and the leader of People’s Government, Dr. Kizza Besigye last year in 2020 sided with comedians ‘Bizonto’ saying that NRM government is full of officials from Western region, the act that promotes tribalism in the country.
On Friday, July 24
2020, Museveni arrested ‘Bizonto’ comedy group on allegations of publishing a
sectarian video, dividing Ugandans on tribal basis.
Charles Twiine, the
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Spokesperson told press by then that
the suspects including Ssabakaki Simon Peter alia Akozonto akato, Ssewanja
Julius alia Ssabazonto, Mbabali Merceli alias Giant zonto and Gold Kimatono
released a video clip that is “threatening and savagely fierce.”
In a video clip, the
comedians named out several government officials all from the western region,
saying that they are capable of keeping President Museveni in power.
Now taking to his
social media platform, Dr. Besigye said openly that “My frustration is not with
the tribalists. My frustration is the Ugandans who allow it to happen.”
“If they arrested the
Bizontos and we all went to where they are detained, they would be released
immediately,” he added.
Besigye challenged
Bizonto supporters that writing on Social media that Bizontos have been
arrested is not enough. “You must do something to force their captors to
release them.”
Museveni has been appointing
his son to highest ranks in the UPDF an the preferment of Museveni's son is
likely to trigger debate on his succession plan with some observers saying Lt-Gen
Kainerugaba could be a potential successor given his rapid rise through the
army ranks since joining 20 years ago yet he has never fought any single war.
These very bahima have been eliminating many people who work hard to rise to top positions in the government and the army, Aronda a mukiga from Rukingiri, Kazini from a mukonzo, Mayombo a mutooro, Kaweesi a munyarwanda, Sheikh Major Kiggundu a muganda whose widow mama Fiina is both whitch doctor of Tibuhaburwa , Afande Kirumira, Col Abiriga, the list of officers killed by Museveni and his Somali half brother Saleh is too long!
35 year old reegime also eliminated common political leaders killed by 1987- Lutakome kayiira, Joan Kagezi 2005- John garang of s.sudan, catholic archbishop Cyprian Lwanga among many others.
