Museveni’s government is burning our children's future
Museveni's crisis has reached a tipping point, here's a simple guide with key points of thecurrent situation.
On Saturday night fire
burnt down the iconic building at Uganda's Makerere University, which is a
prominent landmark in the capital city of Kampala which left many Ugandans in deep
anger.
For normal Ugandans everyday
life has become increasingly difficult, One of the biggest challenges people
face is hyperinflation. According to presidential aspirant Hon. Robert
Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine released by the end of 2019, prices were doubling
every 19 days on average causing many Ugandans to suffer seriously, he added
that the impact of coronavirus affected citizens badly by giving an example “you
work a whole month and you cannot afford the basic food that Ugandans include
in their diet.”
In the year 2018 the female
hall named Mary Stuart was also gutted by serious blaze from two canteens on
the ground floor, It left five students injured and by then police and
University administration assured to come up with serious investigation which
is nowhere today, two years after same scenario saw the main building down and
the leadership is focusing on restoring the building than investigating the
cause.
Museveni yesterday told the country in his state address that the cause of the
fire was due to negligence, which could mean the flick of a cigarette at the
wrong place, or a simple electrical misalignment, but he refused to say
anything concerning criminal activity, lack of security at main hall, poor
response from police fire brigade and his mafia political juniors taking
children heads to parliament and lack of the preliminary investigation into the
May blaze that saw Mary stuart hall burning.
Last month the
senior mafia and half brother to President Museveni Gen. Saleh openly caused
demolition of house of God in Ndeeba which the leader knew and kept quiet,
surely if someone can demolish a church or cut a child head will it be hard to
demolish main building at Makerere University?
To
prevent a tragic repeat of these fires, we should be satisfied with simple, convenient, complete
and well explained investigative report done by private organ because corrupt military
intelligence team won’t investigate it’s self, without this they will burn
other buildings like they did on Mary Stuart and ivory tower.
It all began
with darkness deal like church was demolished, like many others in Ugandans I had
to watch on live television and also follow online trendings. As I stepped out
of my room I was almost certain that i would go back in room and see on TV more
guns in Makerere than fire extinguishers.
The
mishandling of leadership by Museveni has led to a number of disasters in
recent years including at least a dozen killings in kasese, northern Uganda and
luwero the country is experiencing uncontrolled blazes in schools and
factories. Moreover there is no planning petrol stations are in center of down
town which is risky and unsafe conditions in many homes, office buildings,
malls and factories across the country are not controlled in any way.
Makerere alumni’s
are angry, young Ugandans are also angry, they are rapidly losing the right to
enjoy education Museveni had when he was still young, with prisoners escaping
in Moroto, child head in parliament, endless corruption, poverty crisis, border
closure, burning makerere university, this year is likely to be just the
beginning of a new reality to young Ugandans by experiencing the evil in Museveni’s leadership
Indeed its open even to new born babies that Museveni is busy burning their
future.
