H.E Museveni &
NRM's support evidently dead in Former stronghold Kisoro!!!
The 3rd of March 2020
was World Wildlife Day that was scheduled to be hosted by Kisoro district which
of course is Ugandas tourism capital because of its strategic location between
two international borders and two wildlife gems Mgahinga National Park and
Bwindi National Park, the two parks are home to the rare and most sought after
mountain gorilla.
I will give a brief
recap of happenings on that day, this World Wildlife Day came after two
disastrous visits by H.E Museveni where the mammoth crowds that used to welcome
him clearly had reduced to just small crowds for a not so popular village
chief.
During the visit to
Gisorora at the end of July, NRM supporters who are in denial attributed the
small crowds to last minute change of venue due to self seekers and hate
leaders filled leaders like Amos Haziminana(District speaker) and Hon Mateke
who convinced the presidential Security team that the venue was too close to
the Rwandan borderlands pre to be secure for the big man. Hon Mateke and
daughter had to quickly ferry school children & students to the venue to
save their faces as they always lie to the president of enjoying massive
influence in Kisoro which is a big naked lie. They even tried to blame it on
the rain forgetting that during good NRM days people from and around Kisoro
would brave anything( from heavy storms to scotching sun) only to come and show
support to H.E Museveni and NRM a person and party they loved and held so close
to their hearts. The president left and promised to come back at the end of the
year hoping it will be different.
Come the second time
when he came to Gatete Catholic church ground in Murora to appreciate
Murora subcounties' coming out as best voter for NRM in the 2016 National
elections. The turn up was small but also the school children saved the
situation as they were still in their third term holidays. The other people in
villages around Kisoro were busy going about their daily business harvesting
the crops while shop owners in town were busy in their shops which never used
to happen in the old good NRM days in Kisoro.
Come the World
Wildlife Day on 3rd March 2020 which H.E Museveni and NRM enthusiasts had
wanted to use and further lie of his and the party's popularity in Kisoro was
even more disastrous as the name choice for the day "World" had
nothing to show for it. H.E Museveni got a heads up and decided to delegate the
Minister of Tourism to preside over the "big" function other than him
coming for further embarrassment. The function was attended entirely by pupils
and students from primary, secondary schools and tertially institutions from
Kisoro and around Kisoro and Uganda Wildlife Authority staff from all over the
country. It's evidently clear in the days photos.
The massive loss of
support to H.E Museveni and the NRM is due to the reasons that were written on
the protest banners that appeared hanged in different parts of Kisoro like the
one below
Clearly Kisoro people
are still bitter with H.E Museveni and his party for mistreating their son Gen
Kale Kayihura who selflessly served the Country.
The president and
should know that him and the party enjoyed all support their enjoyed in Kisoro
because of the people's love and loyalty to their son and no one else. And
until Gen Kale Kayihura is free, they should forget anything from Kisoro.
